The SIMM (Sims Information Management Ministry), the government agency that has up until now been the provider of land, objects, and billing within The Sims Online, has been privatized and absorbed by MOMI (Municipal Observation & Management Incorporated).

The history of MOMI goes back over 150 years to a little company called Unlimited Power and Light. Merging with SimCity Telephone Company and Destiny Studios mid-century, UPL was soon snapped up in the acquisition frenzy following the deregulation movement by billionaire developer Malcolm Landgraab.

Consolidating his consortium of energy, telecommunications, real estate, entertainment and finance companies, Malcolm Management Incorporated was born. Over the years, the MMI grew to include financial services, private security, and public relations corporations.

Government regulators attempted to investigate the alleged MMI "monopoly," but MMI turned the tables by investigating the regulators, resulting in a national scandal and the arrest of government officials.

New laws were passed allowing unlimited mergers between government and private industry, allowing a newly formed "MOMI" to replace the outdated and inefficient Sims Internal Management Ministry. MOMI will continue to provide all the services you've come to expect from SIMM, but with a friendly smile.

Already, MOMI is busy purchasing up land for future Sims Online development: They have their eyes on several island retreats...rich in shoreline for the high-value-high-cost housing they expect will please their discerning Sims community. This is just one action MOMI is taking to ensure the happiness of the Sims, and the community can expect more in the near future from this friendly, new corporate giant.
